This Sunday, April 12, for only one thousand pesos, the film Metro Cuadrado (2011), the first feature film by Chilean director Nayra Ilic García, will be screened.
This event is held in collaboration with the Association of Directors and Screenwriters of Chile (ADG). Metro Cuadrado offers an intimate and reflective perspective on couple life through the story of Francisca and Andrés, who decide to embark on a new chapter together by moving into an apartment. What initially appears to be a shared project soon begins to fracture under the weight of past connections, the stresses of daily cohabitation, and inherited expectations about how relationships should be built.
In this confined physical and emotional space, the protagonist undergoes a personal questioning process that leads her to ask whether what she seeks in life can only be experienced together. The film’s cast includes Natalia Grez, Álvaro Viguera, Fernanda Urrejola, Boris Quercia, Consuelo Holzapfel, Nicolás Poblete, and Nea Ducci. Nayra Ilic (Chile, 1977) is a renowned director, screenwriter, producer, and actress, holding a master’s degree in Documentary Film from the University of Chile.
She has directed awarded fiction and documentary short films at festivals such as FIC Valdivia and SANFIC. Her feature film Metro Cuadrado premiered at the New Visions New Films of the Palm Springs IFF, and her successful film Cuerpo Celeste has been featured at festivals like San Sebastián, Zurich Film Festival, and Ourense in Galicia, where it won the Best Filmmaker award. Tickets for this special screening are already available via the Passline system for just one thousand pesos!
